Guns, ammo found in home of guardsmen shooter

RENO, Nev. — Carson City Sheriff’s detectives found 16 AK-47 magazines with live rounds, a Glock 26 9mm firearm with a holster, ammunition for various weapons, gun videos and body armor at the home of the man who shot 11, killing four, at an International House of Pancakes last week.
The list of items, released Thursday, reveals how heavily armed Eduardo Sencion, 32, was before his attack at the restaurant on Sept. 6 that killed three Nevada guardsmen.
Detectives also found a religious book containing “written text 7/22/2012 End of...,” five passports, two boxes containing gun parts and an empty pharmacy bottle for the medication Metprolol tartrate, which is generally used to treat hypertension.
Sencion killed four people before turning the gun on himself. Seven were injured in the breakfast-time shooting.
Law enforcement officials searched Sencion’s home and vehicle on the afternoon of the shooting. The Carson City Justice Court released the search warrant “returns” list Thursday.
In seeking a search warrant, Detective David LeGros said they not only were looking for more weapons, but also seeking any clues to Sencion’s actions.
“We’re also looking for any type of electronic storage devices which may possess a type of memoir or reason why this terrible act actually occurred,” LeGros said.
Officials planned to search for medications or medical records “to basically give us another or maybe an understanding why this matter actually occurred,” he said.
The “returns” list also showed Sencion possessed two Daisy BB guns, a 12-gauge shotgun Model 88, an Advantage Arms 22 caliber conversion kit, and a pellet gun.
Gun receipts were found, but the guns were not identified.
Officers also found a Hewlett-Packard Mini 110-1130NR netbook and a red cellphone.
