Carson soldier dies in Kandahar province

A Colorado-based soldier died Tuesday in Afghanistan, the Defense Department said.
Army Sgt. Allen R. McKenna Jr., 28, of Noble, Okla., died in Kandahar province. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, out of Fort Carson.
No further information was immediately available.
