OSWEGO, Ill. — Military officials say a northern Illinois man has gone missing from a Colorado Army post.

Fort Carson spokeswoman Daneta Johnson in Colorado Springs, Colorado, tells The (Aurora) Beacon-News that 20-year-old Danny Domres of Oswego was declared AWOL on May 11. Johnson said Domres was an infantryman who had served in the Army for three years. She says the Army is "concerned about his whereabouts and status."

Domres' father, Tom Domres, says he just wants his son found. He says he hadn't heard from his son during the six weeks before he disappeared. Tom Domres says Danny Domres had troubles after he returned from a nine-month tour of Afghanistan. The father says Domres' military friends are working together to try to find the soldier.
