Deployments to Afghanistan announced for 3,600

Three more units will deploy as part of the rotation of forces in Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.

The deployments scheduled for this fall include elements of:

■ 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, about 1,000 personnel.

■ 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, about 900 personnel.

■ 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, about 1,725 personnel.
