The commander of U.S. Army Special Operations has requested that Army officials reconsider whether to other-than-honorably discharge a paralyzed Green Beret.
The Army has set in motion an other-than-honorable discharge for a troubled Green Beret who broke his neck trying to help a distressed swimmer; it determined the the move was reckless based on a toxicology report positive for alcohol and cocaine. He says the Army ignored his call for help for the very issue for which the paralyzed soldier is being discharged.
The Army hosted an online forum Thursday evening to answer soldier questions about its ongoing efforts to reform the ways it molds and educates future enlisted leaders.
