WASHINGTON — A former Army pharmacy specialist has pleaded guilty to stealing drugs from a military hospital.

Thirty-five-year-old Lamelle Marquez Malone of Las Vegas, Nevada, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Maryland.

Malone, who formerly lived in Columbia, Maryland, acknowledged that from April 2011 to August 2012 he conspired to steal Somatropin, a form of human growth hormone, from the pharmacy located at the former Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington. Malone and co-conspirators then resold the drugs.

Prosecutors say that during the period Malone was involved in the conspiracy, he and others stole over $2 million worth of somatropin. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 4. Malone's attorney did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment sent early Friday.

Two others have already been sentenced in the case.
