Husband arrested in Fort Bliss soldier's slaying

Twenty-two-year-old Geomel Shaffa has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Arizona. He was booked Friday into the Pinal County Jail, in Florence, Arizona. Police say he'll be extradited to El Paso with bond set at $1 million.

A woman who answered the phone at the jail said she couldn't disclose if Shaffa has an attorney

A Fort Bliss official told the newspaper that Shaffa was a former soldier in the Army. No further details on his time in the Army were released.
