ID=25946645Police arrested a soldier stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, on a child pornography charge Tuesday, the result of a monthlong investigation involving the Army Criminal Investigation Command, local law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Spc. Robert Thomas Martin, 25, faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and was booked into Cochise County Jail on $150,000 bond, according to a news release from the Sierra Vista Police Department.

"Through the course of the investigation, it was determined Martin used personal computers to download numerous images of child pornography," the release states.

Police officers confiscated two laptops at the time of the arrest, according to the release; Detective Thomas Ransford of the department's Special Operations Bureau said he expected a search of the laptops could yield more images and more charges.

Martin serves with the 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, according to Army personnel records. He began service in January 2012 and deployed to Kuwait from December of that year through November 2013 with 56th Signal Company, 54th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal Brigade.
