Also part of the promotion: Mike Ricci, whom Smith beat in the "TUF" finals in December 2012. Smith would lose his next three UFC fights before his 2014 release, but defeated Evan "The Butcher" Cutts and Marcus Andrusia in February and May, respectively, under the Rocks Xtreme MMA banner to push his record back over .500.

Those fights took place near Fort Hood, Texas, where Smiths serves as a combatives instructor.
