Applications are being accepted from qualified lieutenant colonels and majors of the Army Reserve who want to compete for assignment to battalion-level command positions that become vacant in fiscal 2016.
The selection board, which will compile an order of merit list for command postings, will convene July 13 and remain in session for about two weeks.
The deadline for applications submitted manually and via the online Command Preference Designation system is May 20.The online My Board File record review system will open May 22 and close July 6.
Officers who want to compete for command, and who officially "opt in" for board consideration, must meet the following criteria:
Be an Army Reserve lieutenant colonel, promotable major or major of the Active Guard and Reserve or the non-AGR categories of an Army Promotion List or an Army Medical Department branch or corps who meets the date of rank and service requirements defined in MilPer Message 15-199, dated April 22.
Majors who volunteer for consideration must be in the primary zone of consideration for the fiscal 2016 APL or AMEDD lieutenant colonel promotion selection board.
Officer evaluation reports submitted for this board must be received at the human Resources Command by July 2. Code 9 complete-the-record reports are authorized for this board. The required thru date is April 3, 2015.
