A board has selected 140 One-hundred and forty soldiers and airmen to attend have been selected for attendance at the Army Warrant Officer Candidate Course.

The by a board that met at Recruiting Command headquarters in mid-May.

Candidates who complete the demanding six-week course at Fort Rucker, Ala., will receive temporary appointments as Army warrant officers and will attend specialty certification courses in one of 17 warrant officer military occupational specialties.

Upon certification they will be permanently appointed to the grade of WO1.

Recruiting Command conducts bimonthly selection boards for the Warrant Officer Candidate Course. The two boards remaining for fiscal 2015 are scheduled for July 13-17 and Sept. 14-18.

The application deadline for the July board was May 15. However, the Army's Recruiting Command has extended that deadline to June 15 for service members applying for appointments in the following shortage MOSs:

140A, Command and Control System Integrator; 140E, Air and Missile Defense Systems Tactician and Technician; 350F, All Source Intelligence Tech; 351L, Counterintelligence Tech; 352N, Signals Intelligence Analysis Tech; 252S, Signal Collection Tech; 353T, Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Systems Maintenance Tech; and 948D, Electronic Missile Systems Maintenance Warrant Officer.

The application deadline for the September board is July 17. In a procedural change, this panel will consider applications for MOS 153A, Rotary Wing Aviator. The July board will not consider 153A applications.
