Qualified soldiers of the Army Reserve's Drilling Individual Mobilization Augmentee program will be considered for promotion to the ranks of sergeant first class through sergeant major by a board that convenes Aug. 17.
The annual selection panel will consider both mobilized and non-mobilized soldiers for advancements in DIMA, one of the non-unit components of the Army Reserve. Soldiers have to be assigned to a DIMA duty position to compete for promotion.
Additionally, promotion candidates must:
• Be a graduate of the NCO Education System course required for their current grade.
• Not have reached age 55 without NCOES for the next higher rank, or age 57 with NCOES for the next higher rank, before the convening date of the board.
• Have the appropriate security clearance for the military occupational specialty in which they are being considered for promotion. An interim clearance is acceptable for meeting this requirement.
• For promotion consideration to sergeant first class, staff sergeants must have a date of rank of Aug. 17, 2012, or earlier; a promotion eligibility date of Aug. 17, 2009, or earlier; and credit for completing the Advanced Leader Course and Structured Self-Development 3.
• For consideration to master sergeant, sergeants first class must have a date of rank of Aug. 17, 2012, or earlier; a promotion eligibility date of Aug. 17, 2003, or earlier, and credit for completion of the Senior Leader Course and Structured Self-Development 4.
• For consideration o sergeant major, master sergeants must have a date of rank of Aug. 17, 2012, or earlier; a promotion eligibility date of Aug. 17, 1998, or earlier, and credit for completion of Structured Self-Development 4. NCOs who have been dis-enrolled from the Sergeants Major course for any reason other than compassionate or medical, are permanently ineligible for promotion to sergeant major.
NCO Evaluation Reports and other document updates to a soldier's board file must arrive at the Human Resources Command by Aug. 7. Official photos submissions will be accepted via the DA Photo Management Information System until Aug. 12.
