One soldier died and two others were injured during a routine troop movement near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, on Jan. 11, according to Army Central Command.
“We are working with the Secret Service to determine which service members supporting the national special security event for the Inauguration require additional background screening,” an Army spokesperson said.
According to the chief of the National Guard Bureau, the number of troops could increase to six times the size of the respective U.S. contingents in Afghanistan and Iraq.
