A man broke into the Washington Army National Guard armory in Pasco, Washington, and stole a Humvee because, according to police, he wanted to join the Army.

The 24-year-old man managed to start the Humvee and crash through the armory gate, according to KOMO News. He drove to the Army’s Yakima Training Center, stopping at the gate to say he had taken the Humvee and wanted to join the Army.

He was arrested for investigation of burglary, auto theft, and malicious mischief.

Before the incident, the man, from Benton City, had been staying at the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission. He is now being held at the Franklin County Corrections Center.
