The body of a soldier assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team was discovered dead in on-post housing on Sunday, a spokesman confirmed to Army Times on Tuesday.

Pvt. Peter Cimino was 19 years old, according to a release. His cause of death is under investigation by Army and Italian civilian authorities.

“The entire U.S. Military in Vicenza is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own,” Maj. Christopher Bradley said in a statement.

Cimino enlisted in April and had been assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battlation, 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment since August, according to the release.

There is some suspicion that drugs and alcohol were involved in the death of the 19-year-old, per a report by the local Il Giornale Di Vicenza, who was discovered by fellow soldiers.

The soldier is the fourth found dead this year, and the third at Caserma Ederle since June.
