ID=24864731"Tonight" is Tuesday night.A staff sergeant with the West Point Band could take his next step to a recording contract tonight on network television.

Staff Sgt. Jeremy Gaynor, who earned a spot on the NBC singing competition "The Voice" with his rendition of "Superstar" that aired in early March, will be back on the air in a "battle round" with fellow contestant Rob Taylor tonight, according to a YouTube video posted by the show.

The pair will sing "Animals" by Maroon 5, a band whose front man, Adam Levine, serves as one of the show's four celebrity "coaches."

Both Gaynor and Taylor are coached by Christina Aguilera, who will keep the winner of the round on her team as the show moves forward. The loser could be sent home or could be grabbed by Levine, country singer Blake Shelton or singer/producer Pharrell Williams and continue in the contest.

After another battle round, the show moves to the knockout stages, where viewers can weigh in on live performances and contestants can advance thanks in part to their vote totals.
