First, the just-released trailer from the veteran-produced zombie action-comedy "Range 15." Then, the breakdown.

For those who can't watch the clip in their current surroundings, or who may not believe what they've just witnessed, here's a quick recap:

The movie makes its debut in May at the GI Film Festival in the Washington, D.C., area. The trailer's official premiere came Monday at the Indie Lounge in Park City, Utah, which runs during the Sundance Film Festival.

Much of the film's budget came from a crowdfunding effort that's still offering prizes and other perks for those interested in being a part of the film's production. Screenings are planned near several military installations, producers said, but a full distribution deal has not been announced.

    • The veteran-packed crews behind viral video- and apparel-makers Ranger Up and Article 15 Clothing appear to be leading a motley band of well-armed crusaders to a government facility where they hope to cure an epidemic that has triggered a zombie apocalypse. This is particularly bad news for Danny Trejo, whose IMDB page identifies his "Range 15" character as "Zombie Trejo."
    • Along the way, they run into other Hollywood notables like Sean Astin ("Rudy," "Lord of the Rings"), Keith David ("Enlisted," voice of Navy commercials everywhere) and William Shatner ("Judgement at Nuremberg," some other stuff).
    • Mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture appears in a boxing ring, as does National Guard soldier, UFC middleweight, Hitler hunter and occasional ISIS target Tim Kennedy. UFC play-by-play man Mike Goldberg and Silver Star recipient Brian Stann are shown with headsets. As the saying goes, it's a main event in any arena, even one that appears to be set up on a hillside during the end of the world.
    • Medal of Honor recipients Leroy Petry and Clint Romesha appear ready to assist our (fictional) heroes, while "Lone Survivor" and retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell may finally have bitten off a bit more than he can chew, although he's not the one doing the biting.
