The HAVEN Act is trying to create immunity in bankruptcy cases for benefits provided by the VA and Department of Defense for disabled veterans or their surviving spouses.
The tuition waiver covers veterans, their spouses and their children. But only one family member at a time can use the benefit, and the 150 credit hours must be divided up among family members.
With the major battles over, these groups plan to dedicate themselves in 2019 to implementing these hard-fought bills and finding solutions for problems that have arisen with some of their provisions.
