Khalid ‘Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri was responsible for planning ISIS attacks in Europe and developing the leadership structure of the terrorist organization.
These are the first known U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan since Gen. Scott Miller, who had been the top U.S. commander in the country, relinquished his command and left the country last week.
The attacks come as tension is on the rise between U.S. troops and Iran-backed fighters as Baghdad and Washington negotiate a timeline for foreign troop withdrawal from Iraq.
