With the completion of a successful launcher demonstration, the Indirect Fire Protection Capability system can move into Army-led developmental testing.
“As part of the U.S. Army’s operational training, American troops operated the system, which functioned with optimal effectiveness against a variety of threats and intercepted targets from different ranges,” according to a Rafael executive.
The Army is further afield to get a vehicle protection capability in place for its current fleet against rockets and drones, and the service has provided no funding to procure an interim system for its Bradley in the meantime.
