The Army aims to eliminate or improve its substandard barracks by the end of fiscal 2030. To do so, it has requested $9.6 billion for barracks repair and reconstruction. The Army is exploring how to test and screen its command sergeant majors in ways that mirror the new Battalion Commander Assessment Program.
