Stan Lee, the legendary comics creator and publisher, was inducted into the Signal Corps Regimental Association on Friday.

Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Jones and Maj. Milton Campbell of the 7th Infantry Division inducted Lee, a former soldier, into the association.

In a video released by the Army, Lee said this was one of his proudest  moments and for Jones, “like a dream come true."

“I knew for years that Stan had served in the Army, it’s a matter of public record," said Jones. "But in December I was reading an article, it was about Stan Lee, they specifically mentioned that he served in the Signal Corps. I reached out to ask if Stan was already a member, and they said that he wasn’t so I proposed that we make him one."

Lee is a former publisher of Marvel Comics, and he is the co-creator of the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Daredevil and the X-Men.
