A 55-year-old lieutenant colonel assigned to U.S. Army Central Command died while exercising Sunday in Sumter, South Carolina.
U.S. Army Air Forces Pvt. 1st Class Charles R. Powers was held at the Cabanatuan prison camp where more than 2,500 POWs died.
It would also expand Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance for those in the Delayed Entry Program.
The officer was reassigned to a role at the academy where he does not have contact with cadets.
