BARNSTABLE, Mass. A 22-year-old man honorably discharged from the Army last month has pleaded not guilty to robbing a Barnstable bank at gunpoint while wearing a skeleton mask.

Brendan Millham was held on $50,000 bail at his arraignment Wednesday on charges of armed robbery while masked, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and heroin possession.

Prosecutors say the veteran robbed an Eastern Bank branch in Marstons Mills on Tuesday. A second man is charged with sharing in the proceeds of the robbery and driving the getaway vehicle.

Millham was arrested later in the day by police who saw him injecting a drug later determined to be heroin.

The Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/1pg5iC0 ) reports that Millham's lawyer argued for lower bail because he is not a flight risk.
