FORT BRAGG, N.C. — More types of families will be allowed to live on Fort Bragg beginning next month.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that post officials said Monday that military retirees, Department of Defense civilians and families of fallen soldiers will be allowed to live on Fort Bragg.

The change will begin Dec. 1 for those groups, which previously weren't allowed to live on post unless they already lived with an active-duty service member.

Officials say the change comes following a decrease in the number of active-duty service members and their families choosing to live on Fort Bragg.
