NY National Guardsman charged after fatal crash in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. — Police say a National Guardsman is facing charges in connection with an accident in Albany last month that left one woman dead.

The Times Union of Albany reports 22-year-old Kadeem Fowler was charged Monday with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated driving while intoxicated in the death of 48-year-old Amy Stock.

Police say Fowler didn't stop for a stop sign around 1:20 a.m. July 19 and struck Stock's vehicle on Henry Johnson Boulevard. Stock was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fowler was taken to a hospital following the crash, where he was immediately charged by police with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Fowler is a specialist in the New York Army National Guard, assigned to the headquarters and support company of the 42nd Infantry Division in Troy.

It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
