A film documenting a blind Iraq war veteran's quest to become an Ironman triathlete has secured a high-profile narrator, a patriotic release date and even its own social media campaign — but it could still use your help.

"Beat Feet" follows retired Maj. Scotty Smiley as he prepares for and competes in the Coeur D'Alene Ironman, an Idaho race that includes a 2.4-mile swim and 112-mile bike ride capped off by a marathon. Telling the story will be another former Army officer: Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of the champion Duke University and Team USA men's basketball teams, as well as a longtime friend of Smiley.

He retired in the spring, looking to focus on motivational speaking and other out-of-uniform endeavors. One of them was the race, which he began preparing for while still in service and under the gaze of camera teams from SkEye Studios, which is producing the movie. The cameras were also present for race day, when Smiley, competing with his guide and brother-in-law Andy Cooper, accomplished his mission. Indiegogo.com page
