The Army plans 706 Regular Army promotions to the ranks of chief warrant officer three through colonel for all branches and corps in January.
Another 33 promotions to major and lieutenant colonel are authorized for the Army Reserve component of the Active Guard and Reserve.
The RA authorization includes 78 advancements to colonel for officers of the Army Competitive Category, 104 to lieutenant colonel, 106 to major, 186 to captain, six to CW5, 33 to CW4 and 71 to CW3.
The AGR forecast calls for 17 advancements to lieutenant colonel for officers of the Army Promotion List category and 16 to major.
The monthly Regular Army promotion plan for colonel will begin advancements off the Operations, Operations Support and Force Sustainment categories of the 2015 ACC list, and the 2015 lists for the Judge Advocate General's Corps and Chaplain Corps.
In addition to the 104 ACC lieutenant colonel promotions, which will be made from the 2015 list, the O-5 authorization will complete the 2014 JAG Corps list and will include 38 promotions for the various corps of the special branches.
The monthly authorization for majors, which will total 133 for all branches and corps, will complete the 2014 JAG Corps list.
The captain promotion plan will reduce the 2015 list to 2,900 names, while authorizing 29 advancements for the Medical Service Corps, 14 for the Nurse Corps, two for the Chaplain Corps and one for the Medical Specialist Corps.
The chief warrant officer promotions will be made from the 2015 lists and will include two aviation and four technical services promotions to CW5; 14 aviation and 19 tech services advancements to CW4; and 24 aviation and 47 tech services promotions to CW3.
