WEST POINT, N.Y. — A new crop of cadet candidates is entering West Point.

Members of the U.S. Military Academy's Class of 2021 arrive on Monday morning for "R-Day," or reception day. More than 1,200 cadet candidates will begin six weeks of intensive military training.

The candidates are accepted into the Corps of Cadets after the basic training, on Aug. 19.

The Class of 2021 includes cadets from every state and 14 from other countries, including Bangladesh, Mongolia and South Korea.
