A 24-year-old wheeled vehicle mechanic was found unresponsive in his Fort Bragg barracks room on Friday, according to a release from the 82nd Airborne Division.

Authorities are investigating Pfc. Justin Kriska’s death, the release said, but they do not suspect foul play.

“Our heartfelt condolences and sympathy go out to his family and friends and the Fox Company family. Please respect the family as they grieve for their loved one,” said Lt. Col. Jeffrey Munn, Kriska’s 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment commander, in a statement.

Kriska enlisted in May 2017 and had been at Fort Bragg since April.

“PFC Kriska’s time with us was short, but he will always remain in our hearts and thoughts as we move forward to accomplish the mission and live in honor of him,” Munn said.
